I joined a Class Action Lawsuit in 2009 that recently completed with a settlement of $30 million. The lawsuit involved cement plant owners affecting over 3,000 people. My concern is that minors have been compensated for years of illness, but older individuals like myself, who were born in the affected area and whose parents passed away due to illnesses, have not been compensated. The attorney's assistant, who was handling the distribution of funds, is no longer with the firm. How can I press for compensation to start, especially given my own health issues?

I had my name changed in 1977 in Hawaii through the Lieutenant Governor's office, but California won't accept the papers because they weren't signed by a judge. Can I get a birth certificate now that I have used this name for over 30 years? Social Security accepted the name change in 1977.
