I've been receiving correspondence from multiple companies over the last three years regarding unclaimed funds in my name, all referencing an old address and a similar amount that seems to be increasing at a reasonable interest rate. I initially thought it was a scam since I've been unable to confirm on any unclaimed property website. Is it possible that these companies/individuals would actually have access to more information than the average person would?

Auto Body Shop was working on my vehicle. The Shop got an Eviction Notice and US Marshal evicted everything on the street. The Shop Owner stated he has my car at another shop and still working on it, but later admitted that my car was abandoned on the street and he did not tell me about it. I tried locating the car by calling the city to see if the car was impounded, but found nothing. Should I call police to report it as stolen? Should I call my Insurance agency? Should I call DMV? The car has current registration and insurance, and I have the documents in my possession, but I do not think any tags were on the car when the property was evicted. Please provide any assistance.
