In the divorce settlement, I was required to refinance the house to remove my ex's name from the mortgage. I am unable to refinance or assume the mortgage due to credit and income issues. I plan to turn the house over to the lender for a short sale to meet the settlement order. Can my ex take any legal action against me solely due to the credit hit she may experience as a result?
