We send caregivers to take care of clients in their own homes. We have three clients who have accumulated unpaid invoices totaling $29,000. Two have canceled services, and one is still a client but owes almost $10,000. We have made multiple attempts to collect payment without success. How should we proceed legally to collect this money?

I have a problem with an AD & D payment I am to receive and was informed today that it will not be paid in full. I am in New Jersey, but my mom passed away in Florida. I was verbally informed of the amount, which is off by $21,250.00. My siblings and I just found out 3 days after my mom's accidental death that she had secretly purchased an AD&D policy for $50K back in 2012, making me the beneficiary without telling any of us. The insurance company claims the policy was cut in half because my mom was over 70 years old. Shouldn't they have contacted me to verify the beneficiary info and why did they offer an upgrade to $50K knowing she would only receive half?

My fiancé was sentenced in 2005 to 8 years and released on parole in 2012. He had an office visit in April 2015 where his parole agent said he was doing well and would be released from parole. No further visits were scheduled, and we didn't check further. Two years later, the police arrested him for absconding, claiming he was hiding. He had a job, residence, and owned a truck, with all bills in his name. He had only 2 months left on parole. Do we need to fight this or plead guilty?

I work as an independent contractor for a company in California where a colleague sexually harassed me. The company did not take action against the harasser after I reported the incident. Is there any legal recourse for me, and can the company or harasser take action against me if I make my experience public?
