I live in Missouri and own several rental properties. Recently, a couple moved into one of my homes and were supposed to pay rent 5 days after moving in. They stayed for 4 days, received a check from a program called Cash for Keys, and then claimed the house was making them sick due to meth and moved out without paying. I live in Wisconsin and was recently fired from my job as a youth minister at a church due to alleged ethical misconduct. I am not in a protected class, but I have strong documentation of the events. What can I do, especially since lawyers specializing in workplace law seem unwilling to take my case due to my inability to afford their fees?
