I lived in Forest Park, Ohio, 13 years ago and recently received a call from a debt collector stating I owe $3000 in taxes. I agreed to pay $100 a month but then stopped after one payment due to concerns about the statute of limitations, penalties, and the legitimacy of the debt. I was also told that by making one payment, I agreed to the debt and it cancels out any statute of limitations. What should I do?

I am trying to restore my sanity from my horrible unfair divorce. My attorney, David Butterfield, did not make an effort to get me my share of the property. In the divorce, I was required to sign a Quit Claim Deed, and I later learned that I am still on the mortgage despite having no rights to the property. I would like to know if anyone in the Bar Association could push Mr. Butterfield to clear up this matter, as he ignores my questions and does not answer my calls for information.
