If an inmate in a correctional facility threatens to kill a guard, can this be considered a terroristic threat? When the threat occurred, no charges were filed. The charges were filed upon the inmate's release (3 months later). Is there an issue with the timing of the charges? Does there need to be an opportunity to perform the threat? How does 'intent' play a part in a terroristic threat charge? What issues or circumstances could void or weaken a terroristic threat charge? For example, threatening is common banter in the prison environment or guards have pointed laser pointers at inmates, etc.

My husband suddenly wants a divorce without explanation, and we have two young children. I've been unemployed and have been the primary caregiver. He's on medication for aggressive behavior, and now he's asking to split assets and discuss custody. I need advice on what to do and how to proceed without an attorney, as I can't afford one.

I am having my wages garnished in California to settle a debt for attorney fees, which bears interest at 10% per annum and will be paid off later this year. I have several questions: 1. How will the last remaining portion of the balance be paid if it is less than a full month's wage deduction? 2. How do I ensure the garnishments stop once the debt is paid in full? 3. Do I need to go back to court if the attorney and I disagree on the debt settlement date? 4. Can I prevent my employer from continuing to remit withheld amounts to the attorney if a court case is in process?

My ex-employer is threatening to sue me for $54,000 due to a mistake I made under their employ, which resulted in unwanted charges from a software company. I am located in Utah and only make $55,000 per year. Is this a valid claim, and what are the applicable laws in Utah regarding this situation?
