I'm an 18-year-old freshman at the Dominican University of California. On Halloween night, I was intoxicated, and so was another student with whom I had implied/explicit sexual consent. However, affirmative consent cannot be given if one party is intoxicated. I want to know my rights in this case, what legal action I can take to prevent expulsion, and what evidence I should gather for my defense.

I was employed by the US Department of Defense and was injured at work in August 2010. I began receiving social security retirement income in 2011 at the age of 66. In 2011, I also began receiving worker's compensation benefits for doctor visits and surgeries related to my accident at work. OWCP has demanded that I pay them $33,000, claiming they overpaid me because there should have been an offset due to my receiving social security retirement. I have been trying to research this and keep getting information that there would only be an offset required if I were receiving social security disability but not social security retirement. Is the OWCP correct or is the fact that what I have been receiving from social security purely retirement keep me from being held to the offset they are claiming?

I am concerned about mortgage liability on a property my former husband and I purchased during our marriage, which was to be his according to our divorce agreement. The property was bought in both our names, and I was told that signing a quitclaim deed would not release me from the mortgage liability. Additionally, if my former husband dies, his children would inherit the property while I remain liable for the mortgage. My former husband claims he has a life insurance policy to cover the mortgage if he dies, but I want to ensure this is true and find a way to lessen or eliminate my risk. What can I do?
