I'm an interior designer working with a demanding client who has a background in law and construction litigation. Could he sue me or take any legal action if he decides to fire me? We are in the design phases, and he isn't committing to decisions to move forward, though he complains about the slow progress. Our contract doesn't specify a schedule or timeline, and there have been hold-ups outside of my control. He seems to push legal action on others for minor issues, which makes me nervous. He doesn't live in the property yet, so could he claim damages related to not being able to live in it as early as he wanted? I'm a young business and may not have as many protections in place as I should.

I'm going through an amicable divorce in Texas, and we are filing pro se. All community property, including the sale of our house, has been distributed. I want to buy a new principal residence with my share of the proceeds, but the divorce may not be final by the time escrow closes. The lender insists my ex must be on the title because we are not finally divorced, even though our marital settlement agreement states that property purchased after the effective date is the sole property of the purchasing individual. Is the lender's position accurate?
