I purchased a used car last year and was lied to about the car being in a major collision and airbags deployed. The rear alignment on the car cannot be corrected and it has been unsafe to drive. The seller, who owns a collision repair shop, has repeatedly failed to make it right and refuses to fix it. I have recorded conversations of him stating this and lying about the vehicle. Will these recordings be allowed as evidence in a lawsuit in California? If not, will the case simply come down to my word and my wife's against his? I also have my own written documentation of each visit and conversation. How can I provide evidence to assist a lawsuit against him beyond word of mouth? Or will word of mouth suffice to a judge?
