I received a court summons for breach of contract based on text conversations where I initially agreed to look over a contract but later decided not to proceed. The suit is for $49,000, which is more than I received from the sale of the home. My ex-boyfriend, who is not on the title or any utility bills, is using these text messages as leverage. I need help writing my response letter to the summons. Should I use a general denial or an answer to the complaint? The suit is for $49,000, which is more than I received from the sale.

Someone came to my friend's house to serve me papers, but I have no idea who it is or what it's about. I've fallen behind on some bills, but I'm not aware of any ongoing legal disputes. How do I find out what this is about and who is trying to serve me?

With the initial petition and summons, my wife also filed and served me the FL-160 Declaration of Property form. After she submitted it, she realized there were several items that she omitted and will be sending an amendment to the FL-160. My question is, with the initial petition, I have 30 calendar days to respond (from 1/31). Now that she is going to file an amendment to that FL-160, will my response window be reset when she sends in the amended FL-160?
