I received a letter from Federated Capital Corporation threatening a lawsuit over an Advanta credit card debt I defaulted on in October 2006. I am in South Carolina, where the statute of limitations for debt is 3 years. I have had no contact with Advanta or debt collectors since mid-2007. Can they still sue me, and when does the statute of limitations begin?

My husband and I have a lot of debts, and he hasn't made an effort to help pay. I've done loan consolidations. Is he responsible to reimburse me half the money I've paid? Also, if I had a house before we got married and my son put the down payment on it, is he entitled to any portion of the house? Additionally, I have two other houses purchased during our marriage, and my name is on the title only. If I'm supposed to divide these properties with him, but work needs to be done and I have to pay for it, how do I get compensated? Should I save receipts and bills?

When filing for leave to file a motion in a civil case, should I file for leave and wait for the court to grant or deny, or file the motion with the leave?

In a Non-Disclosure Agreement, the section titled 'LIST OF PRIOR INVENTIONS AND ORIGINAL WORKS OF AUTHORSHIP' states that it lists all prior inventions made, conceived, or first reduced to practice by the Contractor. However, the individual who created the books and products was the owner of the company, not my company as 'The Contractor'. Shouldn't it say 'Made, conceived, or first reduced to practice by the COMPANY'?
