My landlord owes me money due to overcharging for the past 3 years, which I proved through a complaint filed with the housing department. He refuses to pay me the money he stole. I am in Los Angeles, California, and I am in a rent-controlled building. What steps can I take to recover the money?

I won a small claims judgment against an individual who is now protected from garnishment due to having social security and an LLC. Is there any other way to enforce the judgment, such as garnishing his wife's wages in Michigan or placing a lien on his personal property or computer?

If my ex-partner moves to either Nevada or California after our daughter turns 18, will the garnishment order follow him, or will I need to file a new court petition in the state he relocates to?
