I requested an accounting of my father's irrevocable trust (revocable before he died) and the attorney stated that I do not have a right to any information before he died, but after distribution, any court actions can be taken. I do not want extra court and attorney's fees and believe the attorney's assertion is not true according to the California Probate Code and the Supreme Court case of Trustee Timothy Giraldin. Should I cite the California code and cases in response to the attorney with a cc to my sister to avoid court costs, or am I missing something?
