I was recently accused of mishandling club funds and transferring money into my personal account by the board of a non-profit dog training club where I served as registrar for 10 years. The accusations were made without any factual basis, and the treasurer confirmed no money was missing. The president sent a message to the board advising me of these accusations and that they would not reinstate me due to them. My medical and legal history was also disclosed at the meeting. Would this be considered slander or defamation since it was sent to multiple people and I was blocked from a position because of it without there being an actual factual basis? If so, is it worth pursuing legally?
