I was told by my employer that they were terminating me because my position as GM was being replaced by the owner's son. However, when I filed for unemployment, they told unemployment that I was fired due to poor performance. My employer never verbally warned me, provided written documentation, or discussed my performance. Can they get away with this, and are they required to provide the same reason for termination to both me and the unemployment office?

I signed over power of attorney and a quitclaim deed for my house, which was sold by the agent. The proceeds from the sale were not returned to me after the POA expired.
