I was traveling in Hong Kong and someone overheard me sending a voice message saying 'I realized kids in Hong Kong are out of control, they keep bumping into me as I walk.' Now, they claim this is slander and are threatening to sue me for causing their child psychological problems. I live in New York. What are the legal implications of this situation, and should I take any action?

Is there a 'blanket' document or authorization in Maryland and DC that I can use that would allow me to actively participate in day-to-day medical and other health/treatment decisions for a spouse without always having to 'get permission'? I had a vehicle in the shop for repairs and was told it would take 4-6 weeks, but it ended up taking 5 months. During this time, the vehicle became undrivable due to a new brake issue. This is a company work truck, and every day it's in the shop, I lose $200-$250. Is there any way I can get compensation from the shop for the extended time and additional repairs needed due to their negligence?

Our mother passed away earlier this year, and the monument company we hired to install her grave stone has botched the installation, moved the family name headstone without our permission, and calls it a “quality” job. They argue they cleaned up our father’s slab and removed part of a tree root growing out of the “hole” for a flower on Mom’s side, but the slab is still not level or square with Daddy’s. The head of her slab is not aligned with the base of the family name headstone, and they bumped the name stone about 2” towards her slab. What legal actions can we take against the monument company for this breach of contract and vandalism of our burial property?
