I went to a new dentist and was told over the phone that my insurance was accepted, but after the work was done, I found out that my insurance was only partially accepted, leaving me with a large bill. I was misled. Is this technically illegal, and what can I do about it?

Can I call because it’s a long story? I live in Wisconsin, and it involves a bank in Florida and a person in the UK. I spoke with the bank in Florida, which says I can sign on to her account in Florida, but they have no visibility on how much is in there. I have personal checks from her/her bank that I can write. I asked my bank, and they say red flags and could be on the hook if bounced. Wasn’t planning on spending any of it till completely cleared. This is from a will from when her dad passed away, and this is to pay back my brother who has horrible credit that he can’t get a bank account. Also, the checks are in my name, like a personal checking account.

I was affected by a judge's decision in a trial involving a restraining order (RO) between my ex and me. The judge denied my request for a continuance, and I was unable to present my evidence due to a remote login issue and car problems. My ex and her attorney defamed me during the trial, and the judge ruled a 2-year RO against me, lifting the RO against my ex. This has affected me psychologically and emotionally, and I'm concerned about its impact on my record. I want to know if I can start a defamation and slander case outside of court, request the court records of the trial, and understand my options regarding the RO. Additionally, I want to know if a judge can reduce or modify the time of an RO and if I can speak to the judge myself about this.
