I worked at a job for 4 days and quit without giving notice. The employer refuses to pay me for the 4 days I worked, claiming I wasted their time. Can an employer legally withhold payment for hours worked?

I have my father's U.S. citizenship papers dated in 1937. I was born in 1917 and was 20 years old at the time he became a citizen. I was under the impression that according to the First Naturalization Law of the U.S., there was a provision that gave automatic derivative citizenship to minors up to the age of 21. Can you please verify this for me since my husband passed away on April 6, 2007, and now Social Security is saying that I am not a U.S. citizen and am not entitled to my husband's social security? I have had a U.S. passport in the past, which expired some years ago and I no longer can locate it to prove my citizenship. Please advise.
