Our Association is in the process of choosing a new property management company. The Board of Directors (BOD) selected one company based on presentations and interviews, but the contract presented by the company significantly differed from their initial presentation, with a clause stating: 'This Agreement constitutes the full understanding of the parties and no prior or contemporaneous oral or written representations made by either party shall be binding upon other.' I recently got elected as a union leader and discovered that the union president has been misusing funds for personal expenses. We requested an audit from the state leadership, but they returned it to us to select auditors. Our annual budget is between $20,000.00 to $25,000.00, and the misuse has been ongoing for a few years. How can I report this to the authorities without violating any union laws?

Is a policy requiring a doctor's note showing an employee is okay to return to work after calling in sick for 5 days a good practice to maintain, or is it outdated? From an employer's perspective, it seems to open up some liability if we do not require the employee to show that they are released to full duty (other employees getting sick from that one or that employee claiming in court we required her to return to work). However, we want to grow with the times and if the policy is no longer a standard policy, then we would like to change it.
