My mother is in charge of her sister's estate and the lawyer is telling her that she needs to sell everything. There are many family heirlooms passed down from generation to generation. How can she retain these items? The estate is shared 75% her and 25% someone else, and that person only wants a check.

My 15-year-old son was with a group of boys at a park in Indiana when a table was burned. One boy admitted to the act, but my son was not involved. I received a call from a probate officer stating my son needs to appear in court to plead guilty and pay restitution. My son received no citation or summons. What happens if he doesn't show up, and what are my options?

I fired a flooring subcontractor because my client wasn't happy with the floor installation. I gave him a chance to fix it, but he refused and blamed the manufacturer. I had to hire another subcontractor to fix the floor and back charged the original installer for labor, loss material, and loss profit. The original installer is now suing me for the back charges. Was I justified in hiring someone else and back charging the original installer?

The Board President held a meeting with inebriated board members after I spoke out about illegal activities and disregarding members' concerns. I requested a hearing and specific charges, but the President responded with a letter offering the opportunity to defend myself without stating any charges. During the hearing, I was told 'you know what you did' and later informed that I was expelled. Post-hearing, a determination/explanation was supposed to be sent per the by-laws, but none has been sent. Have I been wronged, and what should I do?

There was a $400 filing fee with the United States District Court to file a complaint. My complaint was dismissed because it didn't state why the case should be heard in that court. I will not be following up with the complaint in that court. Will I receive a refund on the $400 filing fee?
