William M. asked
If my stepdaughter moved in with us on June 1st, 2008, and her father is still paying child support to her mother, who gets to claim her on taxes if we have her living with us and the original court papers state that the order is null and void since she no longer lives with her mom?

If a dependent lives with you for more than half the year, you can claim them on your taxes as such....

In 2003, I was forced to resign from the post office in NJ after being denied FMLA for my mother's serious health issues, which led to major surgery. Do I have a case against them under USERRA?

I was recently fired from a job for no reason, and I sold home security. I had a job that I signed up and had installed before I was fired. Now, they are telling me I won't get paid for the job. What should I do?

My girlfriend has been admitted to Purdue as a psych major but is classified as an out-of-state resident despite never living outside Indiana except for one year at an out-of-state university. She has provided all necessary documentation, including her Indiana driver's license, car registration, state income tax return, lease/mortgage agreement, voter's registration card, bank statement, and employer statement, but Purdue still considers her out-of-state. Is there anything she can do to be considered an Indiana resident?
