In 1998, I had a shoulder replacement in Tampa, Florida, which led to problems requiring a revision/complete reconstruction in 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic. The initial implant was too large, misaligned, and destroyed my shoulder. I recently discovered that the first implant was not FDA approved and was considered the surgeon's 'custom' device. I was not informed of this, and my insurance paid a high bill for what seems to be an experimental, non-FDA approved device. Given the time that has passed, what legal options, if any, do I have?
