I am a newlywed and have recently discovered that my wife has a $7000 judgment/lien against her. Before contacting the lawyer representing the plaintiff, is there any information I should be aware of, such as settlement negotiations? We found out about the judgment while trying to buy a condo. I am afraid to contact the plaintiff without having the full $7000 and they turn their attention to my assets. What advice can you provide?

My parents signed an agreement allotting me a portion of their land, which was not notarized. A few weeks later, my sibling included my allotted land in a contract for her house, and my parents signed her contract without reading it. Is my agreement with my parents still valid and enforceable, especially since one parent has passed away and another is under the power of attorney of a sibling?

I hired a former neighbor to side and roof my home in April, giving him over $9000 in checks and cash. No work has been done, and he has been making empty promises due to personal problems. Additionally, I loaned him $3000 behind my husband's back, and there is a personal relationship involved. It has been almost 6 months, and I am concerned about the lack of progress and the potential for personal issues to become public. How should I proceed, and what are my legal options?
