Me and my neighbor are in a dispute about my land that joins hers at the back. I have tried to show her the property pins, but she keeps calling the police on me. This is the third time the police have been involved. She doesn't have the money for a surveyor, nor do I, but I have a layout of everyone's property in the neighborhood, dated 1985. Her fence is on my land about 2 feet, and she claims 36 feet of my land is hers. We need help before something bad happens. If I pay for a surveyor to come out, can I sue her for half the cost and for harassment for calling the police on me? The police also told me not to cut down any more trees on my land.

I filed a Complaint for Divorce along with a Summons and Complaint on 1-19-10 in Eaton County Michigan. I received a photocopy of Defendant's Verified Answer to Complaint for Divorce but it is not a True Copy. There is one item that he denies. I am not sure what my next step is now that an Answer with one item denied is. Do I need to call and ask for a hearing date? Do pre-trials come into effect now? Do I need to respond in any way to the denied item that has no effect on division of property or assets/debt?

A person with a third DUI charge, who has been jailed for eighteen months and is due for release in March, is seeking information on how this will affect them, considering they have a prior record but have had no trouble for over fifteen years. Additionally, they mention probation/parole, which may be from years ago, and are unsure of the abbreviations used in the charges. They also ask for advice on how long the process typically takes and if it's immediate.

I received a letter from an attorney representing a person I forced off the road in a DUI accident. The person had a broken wrist and a cut on their upper thigh. The letter requests a written response and alleges loss of work, permanent damage, pain and suffering, etc. It states that this is a civil case and will result in a judgement for an amount in excess of $15,000. I was fully insured at the time of the accident. Is this something the insurance company should handle?
