My 2016 Kia Sedona caught fire while driving to work in Missouri, with 31,000 miles on it. Kia is offering a $20,000 credit toward a new car, but I still have a loan to pay off, missed work, and spent hours on the phone. Kia mentioned a hole in the engine block, and the car is under warranty. What legal options do I have to seek more compensation for my losses, including potential emotional damages and bad media attention?

I am representing myself in a divorce case in Michigan. My spouse filed for divorce, and we have no children or alimony involved. The case was set up to be done online. I filed an answer and counterclaim, sent a hard copy to his lawyer, and received a hearing notice. Then, I received a notice to adjourn the trial date from his lawyer and a set of interrogatories and document requests (110 questions). Is there anything I can do to avoid answering all these questions, especially since we kept separate finances and property during our marriage, and I only asked for a blue kayak, a hot tub, and the return of my former surname in my counterclaim?

My husband obtained a building permit to build two houses in Texas, with the owner's name on the permit being his only. He used our money to build the houses, and we have an LLC for the project where he is the president and I am the director. How can I ensure my share in the property, and when does the owner typically get the title? Can he add my name to the deed at any time, and what documents are necessary for this?

I don't have PTO hours left and my employer used my extended illness hours for my 2 work days after PTO has been used. My doctor still put me on light duty for the next 4 work days, and HR said I have to file leave of absence because there is no light duty available. What is the next best thing for me to do? Just file medical leave? I don't want to lose my job, doctor said he will follow up with me after a week and see my improvement after physical therapy. My modified duty note from worker's comp doctor is no lifting pushing pulling over 20 lbs no repetitive bending lifting stooping twisting. I was diagnosed with lumbar strain with radicopathy. Employee health nurse is saying that I should just file a medical leave/leave of absence. My concern is how can I still get the same amount of pay for the following pay period. How does disability or worker's compensation work? Is that an option for my case and will it cut my pay into half?? I don't know what I should do or the options that I have. Also, is that legal for my employer to just put me on leave because they can't give me modified duty?

I signed a term agreement contract with a licensed transportation brokerage company. Due to family issues, I cannot carry out the agreement. This is under British Columbia law. What can be done to me if I cannot carry out this agreement?
