My daughter rented a house and I co-signed for the financial responsibility, but did not sign on the lease. She left the premises early. Am I responsible for any damages and cleaning it up? There is a $300 deposit on it, but the landlord wants me to do all the cleaning and fixing if a few small things, which I will do, but they want to raise the rent. If they raise the rent and don't get it rented out, am I still responsible for the months remaining on the house? I can easily get a tenant in for what the lease amount is, but don't know if I can get it rented if they raise the rent. What would I be responsible for? I did not sign the lease. I signed the application to be a co-signer. The application does not stipulate what I would be responsible for.
