My husband and I are beneficiaries of our son's estate in a Probate settlement in Colorado. We are submitting objections to the Court for 5 documents petitioning for a Final Settlement. We wish for just myself to attend a prehearing conference and Hearing, which are already scheduled in May. Ely said it would not be accepted by the Court to use a Power of Attorney, and did not suggest any other method. What can we do to have just me make the Court appearances? Is there a term for this? Is there a format for this request? What do the terms Pre Per and Pro Se mean? Also, at the top of the Objections, I have written: "Representing their own interests pro se" followed by our names and address. Is this correct?

My son's monthly payment for his Sallie Mae student loans has increased significantly, and he cannot afford the new amount. He currently pays federal loans as well, and his adjusted gross income is under $10,000 a year, which is at the poverty level. What options are available to help him manage these payments and avoid defaulting on his loans?

My husband and I have a lot of debts, and he hasn't made an effort to help pay. I've done loan consolidations. Is he responsible to reimburse me half the money I've paid? Also, if I had a house before we got married and my son put the down payment on it, is he entitled to any portion of the house? Additionally, I have two other houses purchased during our marriage, and my name is on the title only. If I'm supposed to divide these properties with him, but work needs to be done and I have to pay for it, how do I get compensated? Should I save receipts and bills?

Is there a legal precedent that prohibits individuals from making derogatory statements, especially when the statements are made without professional judgment and shared from an individual's Union to their person in charge, which could potentially follow them for the rest of their career?

My father stole my US passport while I was in a foreign country and refused to give it back. He locked it in a safety deposit box and did not return it when I requested. He claimed this was legal, but I am over the age of 18. Is it possible to press charges?

In Texas, are court proceeding transcripts the property of the court reporter? Can the court reporter charge whatever price they want for providing a copy of the transcript?
