I took out a $20,000 personal loan with HSBC Beneficial about 7 years ago and have paid them back over $28,000 yet I still owe $20,000. Is there anything I can do dealing with predatory lending, etc.? I feel like I will be paying these people $406.00 a month for the rest of my life.

My employer changed my pay retroactively from $27 an hour to $18 an hour for the last two weeks. Is this legal, and if not, what course of action can I take to get the rest of my pay?

Can a contractor sue me if there was no written contract nor an oral agreement on the final price? If the contractor sues me, can they take my car (which is still under a loan from the bank which I make payments on)? (the car is the only thing I own in my name)

If a bar patron in California purchases drinks for other patrons in the bar and some refuse, does the bar get to keep the money or must it be returned to the buyer? Does the bar profit from the refusal?

In a motions hearing in a civil case, can you object during opposing counsel's oral argument? Under Maryland rules, who goes first, and does the side requesting the motion get a rebuttal when opposition is done?
