My mom is in the hospice stage and hasn't transferred the title of her house to my brother and me. We were told that if she needs 24-hour care, Medicaid will exhaust her savings first and then continue to provide her care, but after she passes, the state will take her house. We need to get the title switched over to our names, but is there a timeframe that this doesn't apply? If we took care of this this week and my mom needs 24-hour care right away, can the state still take her house? Is there a way to protect her savings?

Our son is listed on our checking account, and a debt collector has levied a writ of garnishment against the account, taking all our money without prior notification. Our son has never contributed or withdrawn money from this account; all funds are from my husband's payroll and my social security. Do we have any recourse, and are there limits to what they can take?

I just bought a car in Indiana from a used car dealership under an "as Is" agreement. I had a trade-in without the title and no insurance policy number. The car has issues like a missing hubcap, check engine light on, a headlight out, no spare tire, and unchanged oil. Can I return the car and get my old car back, and will the loan still go through without the insurance policy number and title?

Can the owners of a private parking lot temporarily use handicap parking spaces to accommodate the drop off of preschool kids by posting a sign that reads 'LAC School only 15 minutes pick up and drop off Mon.-Fri. 6am -6pm must display permit?'

I had a judgment against me in Indiana in 2009, and recently it was filed in Colorado, my current state. What happens with the statute of limitations and the clock for collection on that judgment?

I am living in a Co-op in Queens, New York since November 2003, and I'm a widow with no children at all. I have a heart condition and last year I had heart surgery. In October, I will be 73 years old. I am friendly and polite with my neighbors and I paid my maintenance on time. However, the attitude of the super in this building has been very unpleasant with me. For instance, this past Monday for a week I was wearing a heart monitor that my Dr. at the Mount Sinai Hospital prescribed to find out if I still have Atrial Fibrillation or not. At the same time, work/construction began in the apartment directly above me. The work was extremely noisy and disruptive. I was not informed by the super or building management of this pending construction. Had I known in advance, I would have made arrangements to stay elsewhere during the duration of this construction project. I was very upset at this situation, and I called the building management. I told them that they are playing with the life of a human being. What are your questions?
