My son has been charged with child endangerment after overdosing while caring for his 7-month-old son, resulting in a rage that trashed the house. He is currently in jail awaiting formal charges, and the child's mother, his girlfriend, is being threatened by the police with neglect charges if she does not provide a sworn statement. Landlord is withholding my deposit. I gave proper advance notice of moving, thoroughly cleaned the home, garage, and grounds, and the landlord is now past due in returning my deposit by 40 days. How do I get the landlord to return my deposit, and do I need to appear in small claims court in Spartanburg, SC, if I am now living in Dayton, OH?

I posted a reward on my website for information about a case I’m investigating on my own. I informed any would-be informants that the reward would be in writing through an evidentiary NDA, also known as a service agreement. This agreement states that if an individual shares useful information against another party in court, they are entitled to part of the settlement or a reward amount. As of today, I haven’t been contacted by anyone interested in my offer, and I think it might be because they doubt I will pay them. Is there any way to get out of paying the reward after the evidentiary NDA is signed by the recipient in front of a notary? I’ve assumed that I have to pay or risk being sued.

I rent a room with house privileges, and the owner locked me out without a court order. Is this legal, and what steps can I take to regain access?

I was contracted to provide security services for a company in Texas. I worked 25 hours, but they are now avoiding payment and not responding to calls, emails, or texts. I have proof of everything. What can I do to recover my payment?
