My son was suspended for the rest of the year for an incident with a teacher who felt threatened. He has been placed in a 2-hour after-school program, is not receiving assistance in his industrial arts class, and has been assigned to write a full-page essay each week instead of participating in gym class. He has been marked as unexcused absent 14 times despite attending every session except for 2 when he was sick. He has been suspended since December 17. Where can I get help locally to ensure he receives the education he deserves? He is 16 and a 10th grader.

I need help understanding my rights in an interstate move. I have been the victim of classic 'bait and switch' and unfair and deceptive business practices. I have been told that under the Carmack Amendment, I have no rights and that moving companies are basically allowed to behave in this manner. Tomorrow I am supposed to have delivery of my household goods and was told yesterday that I needed to pay cash. The carrier knew that I had no means to pay cash which is why he agreed to let me pay by Credit Card. He laughed and then said I will have to pay storage fees and labor fees until I can pay him in cash. They have damaged my property when picking up my items. My husband signed a new estimate/contract under duress as the company packed and loaded the truck and my quote then doubled and we had no options.
