On 11/29/2017, I went to a touchless car wash where a machine broke down and fell on an angle within inches of my car, trapping me inside. I was sprayed with hundreds of pounds of water pressure until the machine stopped. Had I been one more inch inside the bay, my car (Audi A8) would have been totaled, and I could have been seriously hurt or killed. Do I have standing to bring any type of legal action against this company, and if so, what would be the violation? I am thinking some type of negligence for not properly maintaining the equipment and emotional distress as I had a complete and full meltdown in front of the police who I had to call after the attendant hung up when I called inside the gas station to inform them their machine fell down and trapped me inside. I live in Muskegon, MI, and I filed a police report at the time of the incident. The car was not damaged, nor was I physically damaged, but it scared me, and I saw my doctor for anxiety meds.
