Ordered floor tile from a local seller yesterday. After discussing with friends and knowledgeable sources, I called to cancel the purchase less than three hours later. The tile is not scheduled to ship until tomorrow, so no significant cost to the seller yet. The seller states they cannot refund my deposit, which is the full $2600+ purchase price, as the deposit is not refundable according to the purchase agreement. Is this legal?

We bought property and put a park model on it in a community. The previous owners said we would have to pay a maintenance fee of $150.00 a year, which is supposed to be for upkeep of the road and pond. However, we don't see any improvements and the road is in bad condition. What can they do with the money, and can it be in their account or a separate one for this purpose? What recourse do we have for them not doing anything?

I have a friend in Tennessee who claims she wrote the lyrics to the popular Gospel song 'Put Your Hand In The Hand'. I've been asking her about the inspiration behind the song, the year she wrote it, and if she has the original copy. She mentioned that a fire destroyed her belongings, including some of her songs and poetry, and that the song was stolen after she sang it over the phone for a songwriters' magazine. She also mentioned that she wrote the song in 1945 as a tribute to her brother who died in the Korean War. Is there any way to verify her claim or understand the legal implications of her situation?
