Our landlord kept our $7,200 deposit without returning it due to accusations of damages we did not cause. We have left the property and have tried reasoning with the landlord through letters, but she refuses to refund the deposit and is asking for more money. Her agent did the final walk-through and said 'everything looks great,' but the landlord does not accept this. We do not have before and after pictures, but we have witnesses, including the landlord's former agent, who would testify that the damages were not caused by us. What should we do without spending the same amount on lawyers?

My boss prevented my return to work by sending a letter to PSA with false allegations and describing a health problem I had while on medical leave. This happened after I told a manager I would report her harassment during my medical leave. The letter contains a questionnaire they want me to present to my physician, which he must answer to allow my return to work. The letter mentions three managers but does not name them, and there is no documentation or evidence of the allegations. What should I do to address these false allegations and ensure my return to work?

My grandfather passed away and was leasing a Section 8 apartment in Brooklyn, NY. We cleaned out his apartment and informed the landlord, but she is refusing to return the security deposit without a legal document stating who to return it to. My parents, who paid the rent for over 20 years, are asking what their rights are to get the security deposit back and what legal document they can present to the landlord. Additionally, if there is no estate, how can they proceed to claim the deposit?
