Should I have been summoned to appear in court by mail after being accused of physical violence, and what happens if an officer does not read me my rights during arrest and tries to question me while being booked?

Somebody is trying to serve me a subpoena regarding a dog bite from two years ago. I have not officially been served yet, but I am intentionally blocking efforts and she has threatened to come with a cop tomorrow to serve me. Additionally, if I am served, I will have to go into court for this and I do not have much money for an attorney. What should I do?

My fiancée has been involved with DYFS all her life and chose to keep her case open for monetary and medical support. We recently found out we are having a baby and requested to close her DYFS case. We moved to Delaware to stay with my parents until we can afford our own place, but her case worker refused to bring the papers to close the case and mentioned she might need to ask her supervisor. Since then, she has been receiving threatening calls from her mother. Do we legally have any threat of losing our child? Are they just playing games with her to keep her case open? What are our rights, and are there any ways to get DYFS out of our lives for good (such as marriage, which we are planning before the baby is born)?

I had a tornado on 8-09-09 and my roof was damaged. Three contractors have said it needs to be replaced, but American Family Insurance said no. I want to pay for an independent roofing contractor to give me an estimate on the roof to get an honest answer if it's bad or not. What should I do next?

When there is an incident that the police need to respond to, is it acceptable for them to drive 60-80 mph down a street by a school where there are kids playing a ball game? Or is it necessary for them to speed like that at all?

A friend's vehicle broke down in the middle of nowhere and was towed to the closest mechanic. The mechanic performed repairs without providing a written estimate, and the friend signed a blank work order authorizing the repairs. The shop is now demanding payment of over $700, which the friend cannot afford. What recourse does she have, given that the repair shop has the vehicle and her keys?
