We received a demand letter from Higbee and Associates regarding an image used in a blog on a defunct LLC website. The letter requested $2300 to resolve the issue amicably. We removed the image and the website, and asked for the payment to be waived. They insist on payment. We want to know our options, including the legitimacy of the claim, the reasonableness of the payment request, and how to negotiate a lower settlement.

As my father's Durable Power of Attorney, I recently sold his home. Does he need to be present to sign the check, or can I do it myself? He is unable to get out, and when I took the Due Diligence check to the bank, I had him sign it because it was written out to him only. I also signed it and deposited it into our joint account, but the teller said he needed to be present. Will I have this same issue with a check of that size if both of our names are on it?

I have 4 timeshares at Hacienda del Mar in Puerto Rico, and I am struggling to pay the maintenance fees. I received a 'Denial of Use' letter and have not been able to use the timeshares for the past 3-4 years due to ongoing construction. I am in New York and need advice on the best course of action to handle this situation.
