We signed a one-year lease on a rental property in April 2019, which was in foreclosure and repossessed by the bank in August 2019. We were initially told to vacate within 3 days but were allowed to stay after asserting our rights under the 2018 Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act. We expressed interest in buying the property but received no response. We were advised not to pay rent and now face liability for unpaid rent and eviction. Why are we liable for rent when we offered to buy the house, and what are our options and actions to take?

I received mail from attorneys indicating that a judgment has been filed against me. I checked the Clerk of Courts and saw that a judgment was processed due to a balance owed on a store credit card. I owe approximately $1300.00. I am a student at Tulane University with limited income from student loans and being a teaching assistant. I mismanaged my finances and couldn't pay the credit card debt. I can't work outside of school due to my studies and don't get enough money from student loans. What can I do to help myself?

Can anyone in the sister's family enforce a document if only the debtor signs? Is a signature from the sister's family enough, or does it have to be accompanied by a printed name? Can the amount be handwritten, and does it make a difference if it is?

I have a durable Power of Attorney (POA) for my friend who is temporarily incarcerated. The POA is valid and clearly states that I have authority to handle all banking and financial matters on his behalf. Despite this, Bank of America's fraud department is not honoring the bank's own legal department's approval for me to follow up on active fraud claims. This has caused significant financial strain and duress for my friend. Can I cite any laws to compel Bank of America to comply with the POA and allow me to handle these matters?

I signed the majority of the revocable trust's papers my husband and I formed without legal knowledge or understanding. I now wish to dispute these documents months later upon reading them more closely. How can I go about it? Can I have them amended by the same attorney or go elsewhere? Can you help me?
