My husband and I sponsored a young woman from Brazil for a green card, but she has since destroyed our property, sent us disturbing messages, and misused her job responsibilities. We want to remove our names from her green card process. What can we do?

I work in an automotive dealership that was under construction. On 4/19/18, I came into work and found the glass and front doors leading into the showroom open, causing the showroom to be 30 degrees with a cold wind blowing. Despite wearing gloves and a winter coat, I got sick on 04/21/18 and was hospitalized with pneumonia until 4/25/18, missing three weeks of work. Now, I am being charged for sick days and vacation time and have over $4000 in medical costs. I spoke with the company controller, who agreed to address the issue but has done nothing. What recourse do I have? Can I get my vacation and sick time back? Can I get my hospital bills paid? Can I be fired for this?

My husband was sued for a medical debt by a hospital and a default judgment was entered against him because we were not aware of a May 1 hearing date. We have 21 days from May 1 to try to get the judgment set aside. We are unsure how to complete the form MC-99 to request the default judgment be set aside and what to say on the motion. Additionally, we want to know if we should lay out a defense similar to his answer to the original lawsuit.

I have a couple of merchant cash advances that I am having trouble paying. The lender is in Connecticut, and I am in Tennessee. I did not sign a confession of judgment (coj), and these advances do not have collateral tied to them. What are my options if the lender moves forward with collections? Can they seize assets, and how does the legal entity structure (LLC for the advance, Incorporation for property ownership) affect their ability to collect? Additionally, if I signed a personal guarantee, can they come after my personal assets? Can I counter sue, and how long might a court battle take?

My roommate moved out without notice and agreed to pay for the damages her dog made, but is now avoiding me. She owes me $700 from her agreement, and the damage is likely more. Is it worth pursuing a small claim in Texas, given that I have text messages as proof and pictures of the damages?
