In New York, Suffolk County, can I send my response to a complaint (motion to strike) via certified mail or does it have to be through a process server? If I send it via certified mail, do I need to include a return envelope for the court's stamped copy, and when is the deadline for filing my response?

My son got in trouble at his Texas high school, as defined by the student handbook. The school called the local chief of police to investigate, who determined no charges would be filed. The principal now wants to call this an on-campus matter, disregarding the police's opinion. The moving company accused me of duplicating work orders and offered to pay only $180 for the first visit. What can I do?

My husband has diffuse Lewy body disease and is ready for discharge from a hospital rehab unit, but he needs 24-hour assistance and supervision. I cannot continue to care for him at home, and he insists on returning home. I have found a skilled nursing facility (SNF) that meets his needs and his insurance (Medicare), but he only agrees to it temporarily. I'm unsure if he will stick to this decision at discharge time. What legal options do I have to ensure he receives the necessary care, even if it is against his will?
