I have been working in a job in New York City where I was initially hired for a 9 to 5 daytime position. However, after starting, I was required to be reachable via a work phone 24/7, including weekends and holidays, without additional compensation. My contract mentions 'might need to work extra hours as needed,' but does not specify on-call requirements. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has charged my employer with wage theft. Am I entitled to compensation for the 16 hours on call, weekends, and holidays, and how does my exempt status affect this?

I have had my kids taken by the state. I have been clean for years, own my own condo, have a stable job, and volunteer in the community. My daughter is 14 and has been moved from foster home to foster home, put on various medications, and placed on suicide watch. I live in Nevada and my daughter is in California. I want to know if there is any way I can fight for her and get her back.
