I applied for EDD unemployment as an independent contractor on 03/17/2020 and am still receiving weekly benefits. I also worked for Dr. Janelle Holden until 03/15/2020, and she rehired me on 05/23/2020, paying me from PPP funds. I was told I could draw both benefits, but I am concerned I should have stopped drawing EDD benefits when Dr. Holden rehired me. How do I explain this to EDD and repay what I received without paying a penalty?

He has contacted legal aid and a law clinic but has been unable to find pro-bono assistance. He is currently being treated at the East Orange, NJ VA and is back on his medication. The loan company claims to be based in Alaska.
