What is the legal limit of hours per week? I am expected to work at least 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for 3 weeks straight in a retail setting. I am on salary and currently work around 50-55 hours per week. After the 3-week period, I return to my regular hours. Are there any legal protections or benefits for working such extended hours?

My wife and I bought a car from a used car dealership with a 60-day warranty. Four days after the warranty expired, the engine failed. The engine light was on two weeks after we got the car, and the dealer said it was just the gas cap. We also found out the dealership bought the car at an auction sold as-is and was previously cited by the Division of Consumer Affairs for not posting prices and lacking a buyer's guide. Do I have a case against the dealer?

I have a 19-year-old son who had been living with a 29-year-old. My son found out his prior girlfriend is having a child, and the 29-year-old also told him she is having a child. He came back home to think things through, but now the 29-year-old won't let him in to get his things, which are valued around $1500 to $2000. What are his rights regarding getting his things?

I was denied my enlargement request at the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division (1st Dept). I was very ill and provided doctor documentation, but still denied. I was told by a clerk that my request was granted and I had 9 more months to perfect my appeal, but later received a denial in the mail. What can I do to get this appeal going, and do I have to take the Supreme Court to court now?

My friend just got 2 years for a probation violation because he received a summons for trespassing at the wrong address, so he never received it and didn't go to court. His probation officer violated him, and now he's serving 2 years for nothing. What is your specific legal question?
