When an amended brief is denied and struck from the court record, how long should the court keep the denied amended brief, and is it still part of the court record? Additionally, can the court strike the denied amended motion from the record without the permission of the appellant, especially when a motion for reconsideration has been filed and the judge's decision is based on the amended brief? What should the appellant do if the judge strikes the amended brief, potentially destroying evidence that could correct major deficiencies in the original brief?
