Wondering what legal action I can take, if any, in this situation. My husband is the president of our Home Owners Association. He approached a homeowner a couple years ago to give them a head up on the HOA rules and regs in relation to the project they were working on. The person was not happy with what he was told. Since then, they have received several threatening and harassing letters and have had their home vandalized. Every single time an event occurred, they have named my husband as the person they believe did the damage and we've had the police come knocking on our door to question us. They actually have asked for samples of our children's handwriting, my husband's fingerprints, and for him to take a lie detector test. We did not comply with the first or the third items, but my husband did go in and give them fingerprints. This is even after the fact that for one of the incidents, my husband was at work and was nowhere near where the event occurred. After the most recent letter showed up at their house, they sent an email to the associations address saying that they know he's responsible and that if anything happens to them or their family, they are holding the HOA personally responsible, then used the phrase "You XX". XX being my husband's initials. This was seen by all members of the HOA board. I'm so insulted and frustrated by this situation, I'm not sure what we should do. If we can sue for harassment or libel or defamation? The police just tell my husband if he has nothing to hide, then he should take a lie detector test. To me, that's just ridiculous. First of all, they are not 100% reliable and second of all, he (and I) have been dealing with this for YEARS and he's already provided fingerprints. What can/should we do???

Can I make an appointment with my doctor without having to disclose specific details to the appointment desk clerk or the office manager about why I want to see the doctor, especially when my concerns are medically related and involve issues such as withholding of medical information?

I have two daughters in college who receive Federal Education loans but need additional funds for off-campus living expenses such as transportation, food, and living costs. The university's estimated expenses do not cover all their needs. Is there a way to get a student loan that does not depend on the school's estimated expenses and can be deferred until after graduation?

I had a slip and fall in Kroger's in 2010 where I sustained back injuries and a torn ACL and meniscus in my right knee. My claim was denied, and I was not mentally stable to understand or deal with the case at the time. I am now seeking information on whether it is too late to appeal this decision. My reasons for wanting to pursue this lawsuit are that this incident has left me with ongoing pain in my back and knees that has worsened over time.

I have a legal issue regarding Real Estate - ADU house. The main concerns are: 1) The value of the home provided by the ADU department is higher than the purchase price, and I need to understand the basis for this calculation. 2) The judge's ruling on closing costs does not comply with ADU program rules, and I need to know if I can request a credit back for the closing costs. 3) The house value might be considered lower than initially stated, and I need to know if I can ask for credit back on the interest and escrow paid on the extra amount I paid to the husband. 4) I need to understand if I can request interest and escrow for the closing amount and the extra amount paid since September 2010. 5) I need to know if I can file a motion to alternate valuation date for a lottery winning that was not considered in equitable distribution. 6) I need to know if I can file a motion to reconsider or appeal a dismissal with prejudice, and if there are any other ways to request the judge to hear my motion.
