I don’t know if that’s drastic or if I should just let it go away itself or if there’s anything I can do. How long have you had the swelling? About how large is the affected area? Is your mouth painful or tender? What are all the medications you're currently using, either for the swelling or anything else? How old are you? Do you have swelling in your neck or tongue? Do you have any breathing issues? Have you taken any medicines for swelling in the mouth, face, or lips?

I have a persistent lump feeling in my throat that has been present for about a week. There is no pain, but it is difficult to swallow, even saliva. I have tried various home remedies like chugging a Coca Cola, eating butter, soggy bread, gurgling salt water and mouthwash, and even using a toothbrush to try to dislodge whatever is stuck. The lump is located higher up around the Adam's apple. What could be causing this and what can I do to alleviate it?
