At a private residence, you are evaluating a 2-year-old child with a respiratory illness. The mother states that the child sounds like her throat is swollen, hasn't wanted to eat or drink today, and has had a low-grade fever for three days. Why is this type of respiratory illness in children more significant than it is in adults?

I have been experiencing a feeling of something coming back up my throat when I swallow, which takes about 10-15 swallows to subside. Additionally, I have pain in the left side of my collar bone that feels bruised, and there is a lump at the end of the muscle area connecting my neck and collar bone. I also have a history of concussion and post-concussion syndrome, and I recently received my second COVID shot. What could be causing these symptoms and what should I do?

My daughter, aged 7 to 9, has had strange reactions when multiple people tell her the same thing at the same time, such as becoming frightened and uncontrollable crying at school, confused and backing off at a party, and quitting a Zoom classroom when her friend cheered for her. I've tried explaining social meanings, but she has different views. Is this a sensory disorder, will she grow out of it, and what can I do to help her?
