I have pain in the back side of my knee, sometimes causing my knee to give out. The pain extends up the back of my thigh and down the side and front of my leg, with the most intense pain behind my knee. I am 81 years old, female, and the pain started mildly about two weeks ago but has now become much more severe. I have not had any falls or injuries and no investigations have been done. I am on warfarin due to two past mild strokes and have a family history of multiple sclerosis. What might be causing my knee pain and what treatments or investigations should I consider?

I suffer from OCD, particularly health-related. In August, my yearly physical bloodwork showed slightly elevated ALT (51 initially, then 45 on retest) and GGT (70). All hepatitis tests were negative, and direct bilirubin was normal, though total bilirubin was slightly high.
