I have oozing of some smelly goop from my left ear, which itches terribly both inside and out. I have been to several doctors with no helpful results, and this has been going on for years. I was given a home remedy by one doctor, which helped a little but the problem continues. It is very uncomfortable, sometimes painful, and embarrassing because I am constantly digging in my ear. What could be causing this and what should I do?

I am 62 years old, 145 pounds, and have developed swollen feet, ankles, and lower legs. I have a blood clot on my left calf being treated with Coumadin, and my left knee hurts badly and is not weight-bearing. X-rays are good, but I need to know what to do about the edema and knee pain. My primary doctor won't see me until Tuesday, and I'm concerned about the swelling and pain.
