I am 74 years old and have been treated for chronic prostatitis for years. Last year, I was diagnosed with BPH with urine retention and bladder damage from retention. I was advised to self-catheterize (CIC) 3 times daily, which I have been doing. I have now been scheduled for a Urolift procedure. My prostatitis symptoms have returned, and I am concerned that if I have a bacterial infection, the procedure could be dangerous, causing severe infection. Should I cancel this procedure?
